Rules on administrative security are laid down in Sections 21 to 23 of Act No 412/2005 on the protection of classified information and on security eligibility, as amended, and elaborated in Decree No 275/2022 on administrative security and on registers of classified information, which entered into force on 1 January 2023 .

The decree is divided into eight parts. Part One contains introductory provisions, definition of basic terms, administrative aids and their management, reference number, marking of the classification level and modification or cancellation of the classification level. Part Two deals with the handling of classified documents, such as the receipt and transport of a consignment, the particulars of classified documents in paper, non-documentary and electronic form, including their registration, and the handling of a European Union classified document at the level TRÉS SECRET UE/EU TOP SECRET. Part Three of the Decree regulates the register of classified information, including the central register and the auxiliary register. Part Four of the Decree deals with ensuring the protection of classified information in the event of personnel changes, the dissolution of a state authority, an organizational unit established by a state authority, a legal entity or a natural person doing business. Part Five regulates the handling of technical equipment and deals with its transmission, recording and destruction.

Department of Administrative Security

  • develops a uniform concept for the protection of classified information in the field of administrative security, cooperates with state authorities and entrepreneurs in the field of the protection of classified information,
  • carry out methodological activities in the field of administrative security, participate in the preparation and execution of inspections in the field of administrative security,
  • ensure the operation of the central register of classified information;
  • in cooperation with other organisational units of the NSA, prepares a report on the activities of the NSA for the previous calendar year by the end of February,
  • participates in the fulfilment of the tasks of the NSA related to the membership of the Czech Republic in NATO and the European Union.
