A NATO regulation is not intended for free distribution or is directly classified as classified information.

For unclassified regulations (NATO UNCLASSIFIED), applicants may contact the Department of Administrative and Physical Security of the NSA to request the provision of such a document. The application must explain how the requested information relates to the applicant’s area of activity. A valid postal address must also be provided. After assessing the justification, the requested regulation (in its original version) may be provided.

For classified regulations, the request must state not only how the information relates to the applicant’s activity but also whether the applicant is authorised to access NATO classified information at the appropriate classification level.
