Certification of cryptographic workplaces is carried out in accordance with § 46 law No. 412/2005 Coll. Certification of cryptographic workplaces is carried out in administrative proceedings.

The Office carries out certification of cryptographic workplaces defined in § 37 law No. 412/2005 Coll.

Note: a workplace with a cryptographic product deployed, with key material stored for that cryptographic product, does not fall within the categories defined in § 37 Sections 3 and 4 of the Act No. 412/2005 Coll., is not considered to be a cryptographic site.

Cryptographic Workplace Certification Procedure:

Certification of the cryptographic workplace is requested by the Office under § 50 law No. 412/2005 Coll. Whoever applies for certification of a cryptographic workplace submits a written application to the Office, its requirements are regulated by Section 2 of the Decree No. 525/2005 Coll. At the same time as the application, documentation pursuant to Section 6 of the Decree shall be submitted to the Office. No. 525/2005 Coll. The application and documentation can be sent to the Office's Information Technology Department.

The Office shall notify the applicant in writing of the manner and conditions for the certification of the cryptographic workplace in accordance with Section 10 of the Decree No. 525/2005 Coll. In the event that the Office verifies the eligibility of the cryptographic workplace, it shall issue a certificate of the cryptographic workplace in accordance with § 46 Section 8 of the Act No. 412/2005 Coll. The model of the certificate of the cryptographic workplace and the certification report is regulated by Section 8 of the Decree No. 525/2005 Coll.

The certificate shall contain data in accordance with paragraph 1 § 8 of the Decree No. 525/2005 Coll., and shall indicate, inter alia, the category of cryptographic workplace for which the workplace is certified and the scope of activities that may be carried out at the workplace.

The category of cryptographic workplace indicated on the certificate of the cryptographic workplace expresses the fulfilment of the minimum requirements for the physical, personnel and administrative security of the cryptographic workplace, at the achievement of which it is possible to process and manipulate the KM of the given classification level at that workplace.

Cryptographic workplaces are classified into 8 categories. An overview of them, together with the specification, is given in the table below.
