Change in the organizational structure of the National Security Authority

By Resolution No 1251 of the Government of the Czech Republic of 10 December 2003, the Government took note of the withdrawal of the consent of the National Security Authority from the Ministry of Defence to carry out second-degree security clearances of persons who are in employment with the Ministry of Defence or the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic or who perform military active service or are students of military schools.

Since 1 January 2004, the National Security Authority has carried out security screenings of these proposed persons. This solution was adopted by mutual agreement between the National Security Authority and the Ministry of Defence in order to ensure the simplest possible system of conducting security clearances and in an effort to create the conditions for the transition to the new legislation.
